Grips & Tape
The handlebars are one of three areas where a cyclist touches his or her bike (the other two are the saddle/seat and the pedals). Having the right type of grip or tape on your handlebar can help to make your next ride more comfortable. Grips and tape are made today in numberous varieties and styles to help the cyclist in many different ways.
Grips with a rubberized feel have replaced the classic foam style grips on most new bikes. These grips are made with one, two, or three different types of rubber, each designed to maximize grip and comfort. Some grips have taken on non-traditional shapes designed to relieve hand numbness (caused by pressure on the Ulnar nerve) in certain riders.
Many tapes now have gel embedded in them to give a more cushioned feel. Some customers also like the feel of additional gel packs underneath gel tape. Tape come in a variety of colors and textures to help you achieve the style and feel that the rider wants.
